Sounding: Digital Horn - ICT Industry

ITRI, like a skilled bugler, has been successful in gathering the industry together to respond promptly to global trends and navigate each digital wave. In the 1980s, ITRI collaborated closely with the domestic industry to develop the first IBM PC/XT compatible PC, which featured the independently developed ERSO BIOS software. This breakthrough not only expanded export sales, but also established Taiwan's reputation as the "kingdom of computers." Building on this success, ITRI further invested in core technologies such as the internet, mobile networks, and communications. These efforts positioned Taiwan as an important region for global ICT products, encompassing R&D as well as supply. Stepping into the 21st century, ITRI ventured into emerging fields such as mobile communications, big data, and AI. By embracing these technologies, ITRI has propelled Taiwan towards a new era of cross-domain intelligent transformation.
